YouTube mobile app now up to 90% faster, on more devices



Google has released a new YouTube mobile application optimized for most Windows Mobile and Symbian Series 60 devices.

YouTube may have been available for mobile phones for over a year, but only now is Google releasing a new version of its mobile YouTube application that is optimized for most Windows Mobile and Symbian Series 60 devices. At the same time, the application is up to 90 percent faster starting up, searching, and loading video and gives "better video quality that's automatically optimized to your WiFi or 3G network." Google also notes that it is easier to use compared to previous versions: the application does not require any further configuration after it is installed. Finally, YouTube Mobile can prompt the user when an update becomes available. The next one is supposed to have "cool features and app improvements," according to the Google Mobile Blog. Overall it appears the YouTube team has put together a very solid update.
